Do I need to inform my current secretary myself?
While it is courteous to do so, you don't have to handle the technical handover. Once you appoint us, we will write to them officially to arrange the transfer of documents.
Will there be any penalties for switching?
No penalties from SSM. However, you should check if you have any outstanding invoices with your current secretary, as they may hold your documents (lien) until paid.
How long does the transfer take?
The appointment of FSP is immediate upon signing the resolution. The physical transfer of files from the old secretary depends on their speed, but usually takes 7-14 working days.
What if my old secretary has lost my documents?
This is common. We will perform a search with SSM to reconstruct your statutory registers (Section 603) as part of our health check process.
